About Us

A Setting Like Nothing You’ve Ever Seen

Renowned for its friendly people, its unique pubs and its lush-green landscapes, Ireland is a country that’s perched right on the edge of Europe. Tucked away in one of its most idyllic corners, is Kinsale – from the Irish ‘Cionn tSáile’ meaning ‘Head of the Sea’ – a colourful, vibrant and stunningly-picturesque fishing village that’s rightly become famous the world over.

Just a 2 minute walk from the narrow winding streets covered in the colourful doorways, is a picturesque harbour that serves as a gateway to the glorious Atlantic Ocean. Here, right on the water’s edge, in a place known as World’s End, lies the luxurious Trident Hotel Kinsale.

Originally the site of a Royal Naval Dockyard in the 18th century, Trident Hotel Kinsale was built in the 1960s. In 1986, it was purchased by the Good Family from Kinsale. The stone-store area, which had been in use for 400 years, was then converted into the Wharf Tavern, Pier One Restaurant and banqueting suite for weddings, meetings, conferences.

Since we opened our doors way back in 1965, one of the most popular hotels in Cork has been providing both locals and visitors alike with great service in luxurious surroundings. We recently underwent a complete refurbishment to enhance these offerings even further. We now provide 75 beautifully modern guestrooms including an executive wing comprising 30 rooms and a floor of 7 luxury suites. Best of all, every room provides breath-taking views of Kinsale’s harbour. Having a prime location that showcases its picturesque surroundings is wasted if you don’t have the people to ensure the experience is an unforgettable one.

We’re proud to have a wonderful team of passionate individuals dedicated to ensuring your time with us is everything you want it to be. With a focus on service and exceeding expectations, we’ve built a reputation on delivering excellence in everything we do. However, it is the quality of food that comes from our kitchen that really sets us apart. Known as ‘The Gourmet Capital of Ireland’ Kinsale is internationally renowned for its food. We’re delighted to be able to continue this tradition by offering the finest artisan creations, developed by leading chefs that use the best locally-sourced produce.

As well as being a modern, luxurious hotel with incredible views of our unique surroundings, Trident Hotel Kinsale is also an ideal base to explore the sunny south-west of Ireland. Just 30 minutes from Cork City, 20 minutes from Cork International Airport and at the very start of the Wild Atlantic Way, Kinsale offers you a world of choice you can enjoy at your own pace. So, whether you’re looking to enjoy a holiday or a mini-break, a week of rest or a weekend of action-packed activities, we’re looking forward to welcoming you.
