Man Friday is one of the most established restaurants in Kinsale. This very popular, fully licensed restaurant is located in the picturesque Scilly district, just a short stroll from the town center.

Man Friday has a distinctly tropical ambience, which never fails to set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The restaurant spreads out over four levels, including a conservatory with elevated views over the inner harbour, yet may be sectioned off to cater for all occasions.

Philip & Joss Horgan have owned and run Man Friday since 1978. Philip has the warmest of welcomes for all who make their way down the palm covered passage that leads from the road to the restaurant, inviting them to sit on the palm tree stump seats surrounding the central bar.

Celebrating crews or vacationing yacht owners visiting Kinsale, business people ‘sealing a deal’ after a hard day’s work, golfers seeking a pint with their steak after a thirsty day on the course, or a couple seeking a romantic night out…are all welcomed and catered for by Philip and his team.

Starters

  • Seafood chowder
  • Chicken liver pate with Cumberland sauce and sourdough bread
  • Savoury stuffed portobello mushroom with a Moroccan spiced lamb filling, pine nut crumb, hummus, pomegranate, pickled cucumber and an organic leaf salad
  • Deep fried brie with caramelised walnuts, crispy Parma ham and a plum and port sauce

Mains

  • Grilled Fillet of Hake with mango salsa, aromatic spiced butternut squash puree and coriander oil
  • Duck Armagnac – roast young free range duckling with a nectarine and brandy sauce
  • 8oz Fillet Steak with twice cooked Hand cut chips with a choice of Bourguignon (red wine and wild mushroom sauce), au Poivre (Peppercorn, Brandy & cream sauce) or Béarnaise sauce. (€5.00 supplement)
  • Vegetarian dish of the day
